NXP Semiconductors S32K3 32-Bit Automotive General Purpose MCUs
NXP Semiconductors S32K3 Automotive General Purpose MCUs are scalable 32-bit Arm® Cortex®-M7-based MCUs in single, dual, and lockstep core configurations supporting ASIL B/D safety applications. The S32K3 includes a hardware security engine (HSE) with NXP firmware, which supports firmware over-the-air (FOTA) updates and free ISO 26262 compliant Real-Time Drivers (RTD) for AUTOSAR® and non-AUTOSAR.
The NXP S32K3 Automotive General Purpose MCUs are housed in a MaxQFP package, which reduces the package footprint by up to 55% compared to the standard QFP package.
The S32K388 is part of the S32K3 family of microcontrollers developed for automotive and general-purpose applications. Based on the 32-bit Arm Cortex-M7, the S32K388 delivers high performance with options for single, dual, or lockstep core configurations. It features Ethernet TSN/AVB, CAN FD, and a larger number of FlexIOs in the family (202) for versatile communications options. It is also designed with low-power configuration modes and fast wakeup capabilities. The MCU complies with ISO 26262 up to ASIL D.
