Qorvo Wi-Fi® 7 Front End Modules

Qorvo Wi-Fi® 7 Front End Modules offer next-level connectivity with features tailored for Wi-Fi 7 advancements. Qorvo Wi-Fi 7 modules have 16 x 16 multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) capability with the full spectrum band of Wi-Fi 5, 6, and 6E. Wi-Fi 7 ensures higher throughput, lower latency, and increased data rates. Multi-link operation facilitates the establishment of multiple active links, boosting peak data rates and reducing latency by selecting the most available link for transmission.

Higher Order Modulation (4096 or 4K QAM) enhances FEM linearity, further elevating peak data rates. Restricted Target Wake Time minimizes latency for prioritized traffic, while GCMP-256 Encryption ensures advanced security. With wider channel bandwidth (320MHz) and Bandwidth Puncturing technology, Wi-Fi 7 FEMs optimize spectral efficiency, reducing latency and enhancing throughput by enabling transmission in clear portions of larger channels.

Features

  • 320MHz channels
    • 2x higher throughput than Wi-Fi 6 by doubling the widest channel size
    • Multigigabit Wi-Fi device speeds
    • Enables a higher number of simultaneous transmissions at the fastest possible speeds
  • Multi-link operation (MLO)
    • Prior to Wi-Fi 7, devices used a single link to transmit data, Multi-link operation (MLO) enables devices to combine different channels across frequency bands together, allowing send and receive data near-simultaneously or simultaneously
    • Avoids disruption from intra-AP roaming
    • Increased throughput, reduced latency, and improved reliability for applications like VR/AR, online gaming, cloud computing, and remote offices
  • 4KQAM
    • 20% higher transmission rates than Wi-Fi 6‘s 1024-QAM
    • Enables higher transmission efficiency
    • Supports flawless streaming of 4K/8K videos, playing massive online games without lags, or live streaming from a home computer
  • Multiple Resource Units to a single STA (Multi-RU)
    • Allows multiple RUs to be assigned to a single user and can combine RUs for increased transmission efficiency
    • Significantly improves flexibility for spectrum resource scheduling and further enhances spectral efficiency
  • Triggered Uplink Access enhancement (TUA)
    • Optimizes Wi-Fi 6-defined triggered uplink access scheduling for UL latency-sensitive streams
    • Satisfies uplink streams QoS requirements and significantly improves uplink efficiency
  • Restricted Target Wake Time (TWT)
    • Enables scheduled service periods, which are protected and prioritized for latency-sensitive traffic
    • Achieves more predictable latency with lower jitter, along with power-saving benefits by building R-TWT schedules on top of Wi-Fi 6-defined TWT mechanism
  • Emergency Preparedness Communications Service (EPCS)
    • Provides a seamless National Security and Emergency Preparedness (NSEP) service experience while maintaining the priority and quality of service in Wi-Fi access networks
    • EPCS priority access feature support for 5G offload to Wi-Fi access

Applications

  • Streaming UHD video
  • Hybrid work, rich telepresence
  • Multi-user AR/VR/XR
  • Immersive 3D training
  • National Security and Emergency Preparedness systems
  • E-sports, electronic gaming
  • Industrial IoT (IloT)
  • Automotive

Increased Channel Bandwidth

Chart - Qorvo Wi-Fi® 7 Front End Modules

• Isolated to 6GHz band
• Two available sets of 320MHz channels, 320MHz-1 and 320MHz-2
• Somewhat restricted by Regulatory Domain
• Since LPI is restricted by power density, allows for higher Tx power indoors (FCC – 160MHz 27dBm, 320MHz 30dBm)
• Only Channels 31 or 63 320MHz available for AFC outdoor
