Texas Instruments TPS281C100EVM Switch Evaluation Module (EVM)

Texas Instruments TPS281C100EVM Switch Evaluation Module (EVM) enables hardware engineers to evaluate the complete performance and functionality of the TPS281C100 industrial high-side switch. The TPS281C100EVM contains everything needed to test and assess the TPS281C100 before designing it as a part of an application's power system. The evaluation module is designed as a standalone board with an attached output load or voltage supply or an underlying Texas Instruments microcontroller using BoosterPack™ plug-in module headers. A wide range of application features, such as a digital output module, holding brake, and safe torque off (STO), are enabled and visible through this evaluation module. This evaluation module is populated with the QFN version of TPS281C100.

Features

  • Configurable current limit with fixed resistors
  • Configurable current sense with a fixed resistor
  • BoosterPack plug-in module headers allow the power switch to be controlled by an external microcontroller
  • An onboard 3.3V LDO allows for control signals to be manipulated by a set of jumpers
  • Good board layout and copper area for thermal performance
  • Jumper at the output to support different clamp configurations for inductive discharge
  • Optional footprint to populate TVS diode for VDS clamp for faster inductive discharge
